On Thursday, our class will be visiting the Project SEEK snack shop. We want students to see what the snack shop offers. Items are offered in 25 cent increments, so a dollar or two is enough.
Day 10
We started our day by watching the Sing it, Act it, and Shake it play. This play is called Vacation to Mars. The students enjoyed watching the play. This class is an option for students next year.
We also learned about the circulatory system. We learned about veins and arteries. The veins carry non-oxygenated blood back to the heart, while the arteries carry oxygenated rich blood to the body. We also learned there are four chambers of the heart. Tomorrow, we will be making our blood models.

Day 9
Today, we learned about the digestive system. We learned that once food makes its way to the stomach, gastric juices work to break the food down. It takes about three hours for food to break down in the stomach. From here, the food spends about four hours in the small intestines, then makes its way to the large intestines.
Day 8
Today, we finished learning about the respiratory system. We made our lung model, we used straws, balloons and tape to make this model. Pictures will be posted tomorrow.
Day 7
Today we started learning about the respiratory system. We learned that the left lung is smaller than the right lung to make space for the heart. We also learned that we breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide.
Day 6- The Science museum
Our field trip to the Science Museum was very fun. Every group started with the Human Body exhibit. We learned many new things about the body and added to what we have already learned. We left the Science Museum looking forward to learning about the rest of the body systems. After seeing the Human Body exhibit, we explored other exhibits throughout the Museum. It was a fun-filled learning day.
Days 4 & 5
The last two days have been spent learning about the muscular system. We learned that our bodies have involuntary and voluntary muscles. We also learned that our body has over 600 muscles. The project for this system was a more difficult one, but everyone stuck with it. Below are pictures of the hand model students finished today (day 5).
Day 3
We finished learning about the skeletal system today. As our last activity, we made a skeletal example in our flipbook. The second half of our day together, was spent learning about muscles. We learned that our bodies have two different kinds of muscles. We will continue learning about the muscular system tomorrow and complete a fun project to go along with this body system.
Day 2
We started learning about the skeletal system today. A few things we learned were the number of bones a baby and an adult have, the largest and smallest bones in the body, and the strongest bone in the human body. Students had fun making a model of a bone and the different parts of it.
Day 1
Today, was a day of introductions and expectations, along with some fun. We learned a little about our classmates this morning. By the end of our day together, everyone was feeling more comfortable and excited about what the next two weeks will bring.
We prepared our Doctor's Bags and Notebooks today. We will use these two items everyday to collect information on each system. Tomorrow, we will begin learning about the skeletal system.

Welcome To Project seek!
Over the next twelve days, we will be learning about six systems that makeup our bodies. Our first system will be the skeletal system. For each system, we will learn through books, videos, discussions, and hands-on activities.
Please check back often, as Ms. Beth and Ms. Jenny will write about each day along with posting pictures .
